High School Profile

GCA High school students have a diverse program at their fingertips which includes 14 honors courses, 13 AP courses, dual enrollment with over 45 colleges and universities to choose from, and a state-wide work-based learning program.  The graduating class of 2024 earned a total of 2,409 Dual Enrollment Credits earned with 119 graduates earned their associate degree along with their high school diploma. 

Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA) is a virtual, tuition free, public charter school serving grades K-12 authorized by the State of Georgia in 2007. GCA utilizes award winning online learning programs. GCA is an AdvancED accredited charter school that provides online curriculum and education services to students in kindergarten through high school. GCA offers a competitive, individualized high school program.

  • Honors, AP and DE courses are given weight only in the cumulative GPA
  • Honors receive an extra half point for Cs and above

Honors Graduates

Summa Cum Laude: Graduates who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or better and have at least two units of Advanced Placement or Dual Enrollment courses.

Magna Cum Laude: Graduates who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 – 3.99 and have at least two units of Advanced Placement or Dual Enrollment courses

Cum Laude: Graduates who have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75

Valedictorian is the summa cum laude graduate who has the highest GPA

Salutatorian is the summa cum laude graduate who has the second highest GPA.

Course Offerings

Georgia Cyber Academy offers a diverse curriculum designed to meet the individual needs of students who are seeking a challenging college preparatory experience. GCA’s curriculum offerings prepare students for the challenges beyond high school. Course offerings are determined by State of Georgia and State Charter Schools Board of Education requirements, student selection, availability of staff, and cost effectiveness. GCA operates on a block calendar. Students earn 1 credit for each block course they complete.

Counseling and Support Services

The mission of Georgia Cyber Academy's School Counseling Department is to provide a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program that is proactive, developmentally appropriate and one that will assist all students in acquiring the mindsets and behaviors needed to become productive students, responsible citizens, and lifelong learners. The counseling department staff at GCA will collaborate with all stakeholders, including students, parents/guardians, staff and community members to work towards meeting the needs of all students.
