Being part of a school club enhances the school experience. Clubs are led and moderated by GCA faculty and staff members who mentor and guide student participants.
Georgia Cyber Academy has numerous clubs to join for all grade levels. Visit your school’s clubs page to see which clubs may interest you.

Thank you for your patience this school year as we are happy to serve so many more elementary students. Now that we have all settled into the school year, we will be starting up our amazing clubs!
We will be offering a variety of club options with GCA teacher-led clubs, GCA student-led clubs, and Microsoft-led clubs. You can find more information about all of these club offerings below as well as information about our Microsoft Clubs Showcase.
We are very excited about our club offerings and are glad to offer your student these fun, engaging, creative, social opportunities!

Clubs Schedule
Elementary clubs will officially start the week of January 11, 2021, with K-2nd grade Story Time Club starting on Friday, January 8th. Clubs will run until the end of the school year. The last day of school for students is Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
Clubs will not run during the following days/weeks:
- 1/19/21: Martin Luther King Jr. Day Student and Staff Holiday
- 3/29/21-4/2/21: Spring Break Student and Staff Holiday
- 4/19/21-4/30/21: Georgia Milestones State Testing Weeks

Elementary Club Offerings
TEACHER-LED CLUBS
Super Singing Songwriting Spectacular Club:
We are going to have fun learning basic singing lessons and writing songs! This club will be lead by Mr. Dan Hall (dhall@georgiacyber.org) on 2nd and 4th Friday of the month @3:30pm starting in January.
K-2nd Story Time Club:
We are going to read along a picture storybook and share our thoughts on the story! This club will be lead by Ms. Kristy Howard (with some guest readers as well). We will meet during our lunch break one Friday a month starting in January. Tentative dates: 1/8/21, 2/5/21, 3/5/21, 4/9/21, 5/7/21 @12pm
3rd-5th Art Club:
Get out your paper, colored pencils, markers, and other creative supplies! Join us as we create wonderful works of art together! This club will be lead by Ms. Lilian Boyd (lboyd@georgiacyber.org) on Thursdays @12pm starting in January.
STUDENT-LED CLUBS
Many students have reached out to me to ask about the opportunity for student-led clubs. While we cannot accommodate all of our student's requests, we will be able to offer this to a few prepared and engaging students. We will have a club proposal submission in which FIVE 4th or 5th grade students will be selected to run at least ONE club this school year.
Club Host submissions are being reviewed and will be announced by 1/15/21. Thank you to all those who submitted! Once announced, student-led club submission winners will be paired either with Ms. Kristy Howard or Ms. Ellen Therens as staff sponsors.
MICROSOFT CLUBS
We are excited to announce that through our community partnership with Microsoft that they will be hosting a variety of clubs for our elementary students this year! Be sure to check out their club offerings below as I am sure you will find something that will pique your student's interest! Ms. Kristy Howard will be the staff sponsor and point of contact regarding the clubs offered in English. Ms. Julie Ferrer will be the point of contact for the Spanish club offerings. Microsoft Clubs will start in January.

Participants will learn how to create a story using Google Slides & Google Docs. They’ll explore the latest version of these apps, including using drawing tools, selecting and sizing images and icons, creating backgrounds, and changing fonts.

Using the power of code, participants will explore aquatic worlds and uncover hidden treasure with the Minecraft Voyage Aquatic tutorial and we will work together with The Agent (a robot) to clear any obstacles in their path and secure the items needed for their Minecraft journey.

Participants learn fundamental game and coding concepts like sprites, variables, and coordinates, then use their new skills to create and customize their own playable game. This club will be offered in Spanish.

Each month you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself and other members in SCIENCE and ENGINEERING events. You will investigate, experiment, and design in these events. Many of the events will ask you to create a device to complete a certain task or design an experiment to answer a specific question. We will introduce you to various competitions and you may have the opportunity to join a competitive team to compete against other students.
