How can I review and change my schedule?
What if I don’t think my grade level is correct in Infinite Campus?
What school supplies do I need for high school?
Here is the suggested supply list. Most of these are for students to use to stay organized and be engaged in classes.
How can I interact with classmates outside of class?
Where are prom and graduation held?
Will live class attendance be required for all students?
Will there no longer be study halls?
Will there be Milestone testing in December for students who take EOC courses in the fall?
When are students expected to be on camera?
How will Interim Assessments work with the block schedule?
What is the purpose and practice behind changing to block schedule?
The block schedule allows students to take more classes in a school year providing more opportunities to earn credit and be successful. It also provides the chance to focus attention on 4 classes at one time to help students manage the work load. At the end of the semester, classes will completely change and students will focus on their new course load for 2nd semester.

Mrs. Daly
What Her Colleagues Are Saying...
"Always positive and encouraging. Sends helpful documents in the elective's chats."
"Karen is there for anyone that needs help. She is always volunteering her time to help answer questions, especially for the new hires. Her students love her too. Every semester I have students that have taken her class and have brought up how much they enjoyed it and learned so much."
"Karen Daly is a valuable asset to our school and our students! Her class sessions are so engaging that students on a flexible schedule who are not required to come to class still do! She provides opportunities for all levels of students to hone their skills and practice higher order thinking skills through high interest discussions and masterful questioning strategies. Her work ethic is unbelievable as you may find her working anytime day or night to ensure her students get exactly what they need to be successful! Thanks for being a true CHAMPION!"

What Her Colleagues Are Saying...
She is amazing! Anytime I have a question, she is literally one zoom away every time!
Susan amazes me constantly with her work ethic and positive attitude! She is leading the American Government team as the POC and doing an amazing job in that role. She works tirelessly to create well-planned lessons and shows up daily to give her best to her classes.
Susan is always going above and beyond for her students and as POC she has been working just as hard for our American Government Department. She is a superstar!
Susan’s passion for teaching and her students is always evident in how she carries herself. She consistently thinks outside the box and is excited about opportunities to help students grow. She is also a great coworker and positive team member.
Susan deserves Staff of the month because she is a actual rock star. Not only is she always sharing tips, tricks, materials to the entire social studies department but she is consistently going above and beyond for her students. She is the PBIS queen, she gives students video tutorials and she is always looking for ways to make learning better for her kids.

Mrs. Signa
What Her Colleagues Are Saying...
Emma is my mentor and has gone above and beyond to support me as I navigate my way through being a new teacher here at GCA. I know she is so busy with her own work but is always willing to set it aside for a minute to answer any question. The face to face option on Zoom has allowed us to work through things that would have taken me hours to figure out but with her help, I was understanding what I didn't understand within minutes!! All staff has been amazing with regards to their willingness to help but Emma has been the one I have leaned on as I begin this new journey.
Emma goes above and beyond with supporting students, parents, other SE teachers and Mentees. She is an asset in the Math department and planning. Emma is a calm and kind person.
Ms. Signa's lesson plans are organized, easy to follow, and capture all the elements needed! Her notes in green text show her scaffolding and SE instructional techniques which gives a clear picture as to how she is supporting students in the classroom. She graciously and effectively mentors 3 others on top of her own workload.
Mrs. Elliot
What Her Colleagues Are Saying...
Julie has been a phenomenal asset to the Geometry team! She moved into the role as POC and hit the ground running! She has a passion for curriculum and it shows as she handles not one, not two, but three preps! (Geometry, Stats, and AP Stats in the spring). She is an awesome advocate for teachers and students!
Julie is truly dedicated to her work and what is best for her students. She maintains high expectations for students and pushes them to achieving their best. She works very hard as a POC for two courses and delivers stellar work. I don't know how she does it all but she does it all so well. She is always willing to share ideas and help others on our math team.
Julie has taken on being Geometry POC like a champ & is doing a phenomenal job!
She is also single handedly creating the Statistical Reasoning course & does not hesitate to advocate for what she feels is best for her students.
There isn't enough space for me to tell you why Julie is deserving of Staff of the Month. She has taken over as Point of contact for the Geometry department. She has worked diligently to provide our team with valuable curriculum support and resources. She has gone the extra mile providing instructional videos enabling us to use more of the GCA platforms both efficiently and effectively!! She is doing all of this while teaching two separate subjects, Geometry Honors and Statistical Reasoning. I am excited about this year with Julie Elliot as our Geometry Point of Contact. This is why Julie Elliot should be Math Teacher of the Month!!

November
Mr. Tarlton
What His Colleagues Are Saying...
He is always willing to lend a helping hand and is an amazing Person of Contact!
Since joining Georgia Cyber Academy in January, Adam has quickly advanced and now serves as the point of contact for the World Literature team. He fosters a supportive classroom environment, going above and beyond by sending students rewards like DoorDash treats to encourage positive behavior. Known for his genuine care and team spirit, Adam brings a positive influence by checking in with colleagues, sharing creative ideas, and building a strong culture within the school.
It is because of Adam that I feel so connected to GCA this year. He has enabled me, through gentle encouragement, to connect to members of ELA in so many ways, and yet he's so much newer than I am!
He's one of the most encouraging and supportive individuals at GCA; he's an impactful and creative, caring teacher; most of all, he sets the example for what Community looks like!
Adam has gone above and beyond as a POC. He created all of the Midsummer Night's Dream daily pages himself.
Adam's classroom is a place of student collaboration. He brings an energy and creativity to his lessons and is generous with the teaching team.
He has contributed his expertise on a comprehensive list of World Literature.
Adam deserves this recognition because of his dedication to bringing the English Department together and supporting all of us. He is constantly working to build a sense of community:
At PD in July, he bought us all coffee cups and sharpies and crowns to remind us of the words of the speaker and bring us together.
To support POCs, he hosts a special coffee house session.
He coordinated meet-ups at Fall PD.
He always shares resources!
He reaches out to individuals privately to let them know he is "there" for them when they need.
He's also a stellar teacher - I have his students from last year, and his impact on them is undeniable. He's newly stepped up to the POC position this year, and he only came to GCA in January last year! Yet he has made himself a huge part of our department from DAY 1.

April is truly the glue of our department. She keeps everything together and organized. She is also our key source of innovation, motivation, and positivity. She is truly a team player that goes the extra mile for her team and our students. The success we have had in CTAE would not have happened without April's ability to represent CTAE in many rooms.
April does literally EVERYTHING to help make CTAE run so smoothly! She is only in her 2nd year here at GCA, but you'd think she'd been here forever with how knowledgeable she is about all things GCA. April is always willing to lend a hand and goes above and beyond not only for her students, but also for her team.
Howell is a tireless advocate for all things CTAE and CTSO! She is very knowledgeable and is a creative problem-solver. She keeps the CTAE clubs moving and is the engine to all that we do.
