January 29th is an Enhanced Learning Day. There will be no live classes.
Learning Coaches can log time spent working on the curriculum or assignments in Nucleus. If you need help with this task, look at the following help article from our Tech Team.
LIFE students are invited to attend an optional virtual field trip to the Cupcakery on January 29, 2025 at 11:25 AM to 12:05 PM.

December 6 - November's Highest Async Attendance Celebrations!
On Nov 22nd, the classes who got 100% attendance during November Async Days earned a party! And boy, did we party!
Our Special Education (SE) administrators joined November's Dance Party for Highest Async Day Attendance! Check out our SE Director, J. Brock Tarno, along with his amazing Assistant Directors (ADs), Veronica Williams, Martel Shavers, and Amy Zahn!

October 24 - LIFE's Virtual Community Based Instruction Event
LIFE Champions -Join us Wednesday October 30, 2024!
LIFE Virtual Community Based Instruction (CBI) Event will be LIFE's first virtual CBI event of the year. During this event students will learn all about different community helpers taking place from 8:00 A.M. -2:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 30, 2024. Students are required to attend a minimum of five sessions. They can be different sessions or all of the same sessions.
Don't forget to dress like your favorite community helper! We can't wait to see you virtually.
When: Wednesday October 30, 2024
Where: Log in through the different CLASS sessions through Canvas.
Requirements: Students will be required to attend 5 sessions.
We are encouraging students and staff to dress like their favorite community helper.

Conferences will follow.
Students can sign up for a chance to share their pets, or stuffed animals if they don't have a pet, on camera and say a few words about them during the Pet Rally. We will choose students using a spinner or other lottery system. It’s possible that we won’t have time to share every pet.
On September 18th, we will have a special guest during our Open Office/ Conversations time. Ms. Kristen Davis will be available to answer questions about setting up or using GCA assistive technology!

August 23 - Let's Have Fun At Our LIFE Pep Rally!
The LIFE program serves students with severe to mild intellectual disabilities, in grades K-12. Students participate in small group instruction classes with a grade-level modified curriculum, that addresses academics and functional life skills.
LIFE Parents and students, join us for fun and announcements as we kick off our Enhanced Learning Day!

2024- 2025 LIFE ELD Days
1. Assembly (8:15 am - 9:00 am)
Build community and provide opportunities to understand the Enhanced Learning Day (ELD) Schedule and that the ASYNC day looks different than regular instructional days.
2. Open Offices with Case Managers (9:00 am - 10:30 am)
This is a time parents can meet with teachers to discuss children's academic progress and an opportunity to ask questions to the classroom teacher.
3. Open Offices with Electives (10:30 am - 12:00 pm)
This is a time parents can meet with Elective teachers to discuss children's academic progress and an opportunity to ask questions to the classroom teacher.
4. ASYNC Assignments
Teach children to be able to manage their daily screen time. Don't forget to include physical rest and activities outside the home.
5. Catch up on assignments
Guidelines for parents are expected to be actively involved in their children's digital activities, limit technology use, and teach the concept of digital responsibility.
