Overview of Responsibilities

GCA Faculty and Staff are responsible for the educational services and supports provided to each student and family.  Staff members are required to respond to all emails, phone calls, and messages within 48 business hours.  Faculty and staff should support students and families when technical or academic issues arise as well as monitor and keep student records and grades updated in a timely manner.  GCA Faculty and Staff collaborate with each other to support student and family success while abiding by all rules, policies, and procedures of Georgia Cyber Academy.

As the parent or learning coach, you are responsible for monitoring your student at home to ensure they are attending live classes or sessions as required, completing assignments, and independently taking assessments or tests.  In order to adhere to state rules, each day you are required to enter in your student’s hours of attendance and participation in school activities.  You should also read and respond to school communications, surveys, and conferences and keep up to date by viewing school newsletters and announcements.  Please also make note of any in person testing requirements and plan for your student’s transportation to and from the testing site. 

GCA students are responsible for attending live online classes and sessions as required, based on their individual learning level as well as completing all lessons and assignments.  Students are also responsible for taking all assigned tests, assessments, and exams including those which have on camera or face to face requirements.  Students should have active participation in school each day.
