National BETA School of Merit and Distinction 2021-22 seals

Our GCA Beta chapter started with 25 members at the beginning of the 2021/2022 school year.  Our current member roster has grown to 85 students.  Our GCA Beta Executive Board is comprised of a diverse group of students across several secondary grade bands using Roberts Rules of Order to conduct all Beta meetings.

Throughout the year our club participated in several group projects including soup distribution for Souper Jenny and a virtual Earth Day celebration.  GCA Beta students had a combined service hour submission of over 1500 hours of service performed in and around their community.  We are proud to have achieved both School of Merit and School of Distinction awards from National Beta and look forward to continuing to grow our GCA Beta into the future.

GaDOE AP Honor School 2023
2022 Georgia Department of Education AP Honor School

Georgia Cyber Academy named a 2022 and 2023 GaDOE AP Honor School!

The 2023 AP Honor Schools are named in eight categories, based on the results of 2022 AP courses and exams.  Georgia Cyber Academy received the following:

  • AP Access and Support Schools distinction with at least 30% of AP exams taken by students who identified themselves as African American and/or Hispanic and 30% of all AP exams earning scores of 3 or higher.
  • AP Expansion Schools distinction with 25% growth in AP student participation from May 2021 to May 2022 and a minimum of 25 students testing in May 2020.

This distinction recognizes our dedication to provide academic opportunities for students to prepare them for college and career after graduation. AP coursework is rigorous and challenging for teachers and students alike, and we applaud them both for their hard work.

AP exams are administered by the College Board. AP courses are one of several ways students can access college-level learning at the high school level; students who receive a 3, 4, or 5 on an AP exam may receive college credit.  Learn more about AP assessments.
