Student Crowned Pageant Winner

Patsy Collins

Damācia first began pageants in 2015 after attending an information session with her mother, and says that the rest is history. The Miss Southeast pageant requires an evening gown competition, runway competition, and an interview round. Damācia's favorite part about competing in pageants is the interview. "I have been doing interview competitions since I was 12 and with each panel of judges, I see my growth. I have competed in Round Robin and Panel interviews. Not only do I see my growth in myself, but I feel I am prepared for college and job interviews."

When asked about how her pageant work impacts her life at GCA, she says "My participation impacts me, by improving my time management skills as a GCA student. I am equipped for the rigor that comes with being a dual enrollment student."

In addition to competing in the Miss Southeast pageant, Damācia was recently selected to participate in Georgia State University's 2020 Summer Leadership Academy! This program is designed to develop and showcase student's leadership ability.

Congratulations Damācia, and thank you for sharing your story! We can't wait to see where you soar to next.
