Georgia Cyber Academy is proud to announce the STAR Student and Teacher for 2021.  The PAGE Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia’s highest achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. The STAR Program is designed to recognize high school seniors who have the highest SAT score in their graduating class and meet all the other program requirements.

Congratulations to our Star Student and Teacher 2021

STAR Student: Sydney Reed

GCA's STAR Student for the 20-21 school is Sydney Reed.  Sydney is a senior at GCA and this year's STAR Student. She has been a member of the National Honor Society for the past two-and-a-half years and has been full-time dual enrolled at Augusta University as an Honors student for two years. This semester, she presented college honors research at the Georgia Collegiate Honors Council Conference.  She is a self-published fiction author, and she published her first book at age 14. After graduating this spring, she plans to pursue a degree in psychology at a university in the United Kingdom, after which she will consider becoming either a Foreign Service Officer or a human rights journalist.

STAR Teacher: Rebekah Lupo

GCA's STAR Teacher for the 20-21 school is Mrs. Rebekah “Becky” Lupo.  Mrs. Lupo has been a Turner County resident since birth. She is supported at home by her loving husband, Joey, and two children, Eliza Joy and Caleb. Becky joined GCA in November 2017. She immediately fell in love with her students and coworkers. GCA is a wonderful melting pot of Georgia’s students and teachers. They celebrate differences and break the mold of traditional school. Prior to GCA, Becky taught Middle and High School in several South Georgia counties. She earned her Bachelors, Masters and Specialist degrees in Education at Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. Mrs. Lupo’s philosophy is that everyone is good at some area of math. If you think you’re not, that just means you have not found your niche.

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of both our STAR Student and Teacher.  We hope you'll join us in shouting them out on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin
