Dear GCA Families,
As partners with us in the education of your student(s), we would like to share that Angela Lassetter recently informed the Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA) Board of Directors of her decision to resign as Superintendent/Head of School, which the Board accepted.
The GCA Board of Directors, District Administration, Faculty, and Staff would like to thank Mrs. Lassetter for her leadership and impact during more than a decade of involvement with GCA in various capacities including Parent, Board Member, and Superintendent.
The Board will be appointing Michael Kooi to serve as interim Superintendent while it conducts a search for her successor. Mr. Kooi has served as GCA’s Executive Director since 2017 and will continue leading GCA staff in their efforts to achieve academic excellence for our students every day.
While we understand that many may have concerns regarding Mrs. Lassetter’s resignation, we want to reassure you that Georgia Cyber Academy will, as always, remain focused on our mission. Our administration, faculty, and staff members will continue to provide the quality educational environment that you and your family are accustomed to.
In the next few weeks, you can expect to receive the 2022-2023 Academic Calendar and can also look forward to receiving information about our recent accreditation review which we will be excited to share with you. In the meantime, should you have any questions or concerns, please send an email to feedback@georgiacyber.org.
Thank you for your partnership and we look forward to the remainder of this school year and to the start of next year as well.
