Class of 2022 Salutatorian

Benjamin Brown, Georgia Cyber Academy Class of 2022 Salutatorian

Benjamin has attended GCA since elementary school in 3rd grade.  In high school, he has achieved a GPA of 4.73 and has been honored as a College Board National Merit Commended Scholar and Georgia Merit Scholar. Simultaneously with high school graduation in May, Benjamin plans to earn an Associate of Science degree from the University of North Georgia. He looks forward to going on to double major in computer science and music in college.

In his spare time, Benjamin is very active in the local performing arts community.  He sings, plays piano, and has performed as an actor in over 30 community theater productions. As a pianist, he even accompanied a full-length Gilbert & Sullivan production at a local community theater. For the past seven years, he has regularly volunteered with friends to perform musical revues at area assisted living facilities. In addition to his performing arts activities, he has volunteered to walk dogs at a local animal shelter and worked as a background actor/extra on Netflix productions.

Benjamin is thankful for the support of his teachers and counselors at GCA, with special shout-outs to Mrs. Ashley Thompson, Spanish IV teacher, and Mrs. Larri Rose, high school dual enrollment counselor, for going the extra mile to support and encourage him. He credits the flexibility afforded by GCA’s curriculum for enabling him to spend time in community involvement. As an online student at GCA, he appreciates that online learning has taught him independence and perseverance that will serve him well in college and beyond.

The Georgia Cyber Academy Salutatorian is the Summa Cum Laude graduate who has the second-highest GPA.
