Summit Students Program

Flexible Synchronous Learning for Champions
At Georgia Cyber Academy, we believe students deserve a learning model that supports their full potential both in the classroom and beyond.
The Summit Students Program (Summit) is designed for motivated learners in grades 2 - 12 who are balancing academic excellence with significant commitments such as athletics, performing arts, or other high-level pursuits.
This program offers structured flexibility in live instructional attendance so students can thrive in both their passions and their education while continuing to meet the same high expectations for assignments, pacing, and academic performance.
Why Summit Students?
Some students are balancing extracurricular commitments with academic requirements. This program will allow these students to have more focus time for their extracurricular passions. It ensures they don't have to choose between their goals and their education. With Summit, students can:
- Train at an elite level
- Travel for competitions or performances
- Pursue professional-level opportunities
without schedule requirements interfering with their extracurricular commitments.
What Makes Summit Different?
Summit Students are fully enrolled GCA students with complete access to:
- Certified Teachers & Instructional Support
- All Courses, Assignments, and Learning Resources (Canvas)
- Academic Monitoring & Support Systems
- Recorded Lessons for Flexible Access to Instruction
What sets Summit apart is intentional flexibility. Students may attend asynchronously when travel, training, or approved commitments conflict with live sessions. This means that students can view recordings of live sessions in lieu of attending synchronously.
Program Expectations
Flexible live instructional attendance when approved and needed for qualifying commitments is provided to students in this program. There is no flexibility in course deadlines, pacing expectations, assignment completion, or required assessments. Summit students remain responsible for the same assignments, deadlines, course pacing, assessments, and academic standards as all GCA students.
Students in the program:
- Stay on pace with their courses and assignments
- Maintain strong academic performance
- Complete required live, on-camera benchmark assessments, including:
- MAP Assessments
- Interim Assessments
- Attend all required in-person state testing (Milestones)
This flexibility with accountability is designed to support success at the highest level.
A Structured Path to Flexibility
Summit replaces inconsistent, case-by-case flexibility with a clear, supportive system. From day one:
- Students are identified as Summit Students
- Teachers and staff understand their commitments
- Expectations are aligned across all courses
