At Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA), we focus on student achievement while building a strong and supportive school community among students, families, faculty, and staff. Working together, we help students rise up, aim high, and prepare for future success.

Georgia Cyber Academy operates a schoolwide Title I educational program and serves an average of approximately 10,000 students each year. Our student population includes learners in grades K–12 from every county and school district across Georgia.

Our goal is to help students build a strong academic foundation so they can progress confidently from grade to grade and graduate prepared for what comes next. GCA’s structured instructional model, rigorous curriculum aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence, and supportive school programs are designed to help students grow academically while remaining engaged in their learning.

Our faculty and staff are committed to supporting students throughout their educational journey by providing instruction, guidance, and encouragement as they work toward their academic goals.

History

Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA) opened in 2007 as a public, virtual, charter school designed to give students an alternative to traditional brick and mortar schooling. From 2007-2009, GCA offered Kindergarten through grade 8 and added 9th grade in 2010. 10th, 11th, and 12th grades followed with the first graduating class receiving their diplomas in 2014.

Since 2007, GCA has served thousands of students throughout Georgia, representing all 159 counties in the state. Enrollment steadily climbed each year with the highest number of enrolled students reaching over 15,000.

Georgia Cyber Academy is a Cognia accredited institution with programs and curriculum energetically and visibly growing learners, teachers, leaders, and organizations. In March 2022, Cognia renewed Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA)’s five-year accreditation and defined the district as meeting the Cognia standards for quality schools. GCA has been a member of Cognia since 2012.
